Built in the 1890's, the original horse drawn Tucson Trolley used to board their horses behind this house. It is a true mud adobe, with high ceilings, douglas fir floors, and the original tall sash windows. Every surface of this ancient house seems to tilt in a different direction! I love it this way, and have made every effort to preserve this structure without wiping away it's history. The crooked walls have been stabilized, and all the wiring has been replaced. The bathroom has a new toilet and shower, while retaining it's oval-shaped cast iron pedestal sink. The kitchen has a beautiful vintage O'Keefe and Merrit gas stove, along with metal cabinetry. Convenient parking and a small yard are also included. This house, like many others in the downtown area, is located very close to an active railroad. I encourage all prospective tenants to listen to the train before signing a lease. This is a true shotgun apartment, with it's four rooms arranged in a line from front to back.
